Welcome

Our international students contribute to UNC Greensboro’s vibrant and diverse campus culture. The International Student and Scholar Services (I.S.S.S.) team within the International Programs Center (IPC) is here to support currently matriculated international students and recent graduates completing Optional Practical Training. We offer visa advising, workshops, and programs to support our international students and scholars, and work to educate the campus community on how to best support the international student and scholar community.

Maintaining Your Status

Remembering all of those rules and regulations about your F-1 or J-1 visa can be difficult! If you need a refresher, check out the information about maintaining your status, loss of status, or change of immigration status.

Traveling While on a Visa

Many international students desire to travel both within and outside of the U.S. while on a visa. Are you familiar with all the regulations regarding travel for F-1 and J-1 students? This section provides you with important considerations when preparing to travel.

Training and Employment

Students on F and J visa types are eligible for employment to compliment their academics. Such benefits are carefully regulated, so students interested in taking advantage of such opportunities must be well-versed in the rules and regulations surrounding on- and off-campus employment while on a visa.
