The 28th Annual International Festival will be held on the UNCG campus around the fountain area of the Dining Hall on Saturday, April 17, from 12:00 to 5:00 pm.  The Festival promotes cultural appreciation and understanding through music, food, exhibits, educational demonstrations, and live entertainment from all regions of the globe.

Parents, children, students and all community members are welcome and we hope that we will see you all there. An alternative location has been arranged in the case of rain and will be in the HHP (Health and Human Performance) Building on campus.

To volunteer to help with I-fest

The most help is needed in the morning for set up, but also during and after the event. Volunteers who are there by 9am and who help throughout the afternoon will get a free I-Fest t-shirt and lunch. Please contact Blane Stanaland ( if you would like to volunteer.

Human Rights Film & Speaker Series

The 2009-2010 Third International Human Rights Film & Speaker Series is Democracy and Globalization: Human Rights of Migrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers. Events will focus on a variety of immigration and human rights issues, attempting to answer the overarching question, "Can democracy be sustained in this era of globalization in which identities are fluid, time and space are compressed, and the notion of citizenship is challenged?" The Film Festival will be augmented with a series of guest speakers and reading discussion groups.

The event is ongoing through November. Click here for a PDF file of the full schedule of events.
