Welcome to a New Academic Year!

The International Programs Center would like to welcome you to an exciting new academic year! Change is in the air again as we move into the fall semester. We welcomed a record-setting number of new international students and witnessed our own changes within the IPC office. At her bi-annual Chancellor's Welcome Reception for new international students and returning study abroad students, Chancellor Brady welcomed students, faculty, and staff with news and updates for the upcoming years.

New Faculty and Staff

Over the summer, we bid farewell to several IPC employees. We would like to welcome and introduce our new staff and students workers. Christina Thompson is replacing Renée Kerkensen as Office Manager. Jonathan Santos is our new Disney Coordinator. We have several new student employees as well.

Record Number of Disney Exchange Students!

This year saw a profound increase in the number of students participating on the Disney College Program. Denise Bellamy and Ajaya Francis met our new arriving students this past month in Orlando. Joined by Jonathan Santos, our new Disney Coordinator, our staff met with students for several orientation sessions, where they discussed academic and legal policies and life in the United States.

Welcome to New International Students!

We would like to welcome all of our exchange students, degree-seeking students, and Disney Exchange students. We wish them well with the coming semester and look forward to having them on campus.

Nursing and Anthropology Students visit China

On April 1, 2009, twelve students from the departments of Nursing and Anthropology traveled to China for a short term study abroad program. Led by Dr. Jie Hu and Dr. Susan Andreatta, these students participated in various activities in Beijing, Wuhan, and Shanghai, China, as part of their academic and professional development.

International Students Go To Myrtle Beach

Each year, the International Programs Center organizes a number of trips and activities for our international students. Trips this semester will include Washington, DC from October 17-20, and New York, November 24-29. Our latest excursion was to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over Labor Day weekend. Students enjoyed a variety activities and had a wonderful time in spite of the rainy weekend.
