Program Costs

UNCG exchange students will either participate on a tuition/fee swap exchange (and pay their own room and board costs in the host country) or will pay all tuition, fees, room and board costs to UNCG and receive equivalent benefits in the host country.  The cost for tuition/fees and room/board will not be finally determined until the summer prior to the beginning of the academic year, but the projected costs for the 2007-08 academic year can be found below (should the costs of education at UNCG increase, expenses for an exchange will also increase).

These figures do not include the non-refundable application fee.  Additionally, study abroad health insurance, which is mandatory, will cost about $30 per month.  You will pay the premium for the entire period of your stay before you leave. Budget sheets for UNCG exchange programs are available for most sites.

All fees and costs outlined in this section must be paid in full prior to the exchange program.  Projected payment deadlines for exchanges will be discussed during financial workshops.

Be aware that the costs outlined above refer only to program costs and application fees. There will be additional costs including airfare and passport and visa fees. In addition, based upon feedback from previous exchange students, it is advisable to save as much money as possible before your program starts. There will be excellent opportunities for travel and other excursions so the more financially prepared you are, the more enriching your exchange experience will be.
